Stretching out the busting tourist town of Positano, there is a little fishing village named Atrani. Actually it is one of the smallest town on the Amalfi Coast! The idea to tie the knot abroad, in the sunny Italy is what Nick & Tara dream for their marriage embracing what the wedding was truly supposed to be about: a cozy intimate affair. That’s why, thanks to the precious coordination of Distinctive Italy Weddings, they planned an elopement photo shoot in Atrani.
Nick & Tara married in a Catholic wedding ceremony at the Collegiate Church of St. Mary Magdalene Penitent that is located in a dominating position overlooking the seaside. After the celebration we walk through the narrow street of the white village. The outcome of the one hour walk for the elopement in Atrani, was a photo session in a glamorous style . Atrani still preserve the ancient traditional italian atmosphere and you will fall in love with the scenic walks, the people kindness and the tasty healthy food.
Do you know the who is the most famous dutch artist well known for its “impossible objects and visual illusion? M.C. Escher (Leeuwarden, June 17, 1898 – Laren, March 27, 1972) of course ! And do you know that he was madly in love with Italian territory? He was, so much that even a little village as Atrani caught his observer eye. Atrani was one of the favorite subject of the artist that printed for the first time in 1930 a litograph named “Atrani, Amalfi coast”. It follows a series titled “Metamorphosis” where the little fishing village was the main character.
