The Location

Manuele and Ludovica are the kind of people with contagious happiness. It is impossible not to smile by just seeing the brilliant smiles on their faces. We were honoured to be their wedding photographers in Rome and also designated to document their wedding at Villa Aurelia, one of the best wedding venues in Italy.
The Villa is perched strategically on top of the Janiculum Hill which has a breathtaking view of the Eternal City. Cited a few miles off the main centre of Rome, between the well-known Fontanone dell’Acqua Paola and the Porta S. Pancrazio, it offered the perfect background for the couple’s boho chic themed wedding. The refined elegance of centuries (was built between 1650 to 1667 by Cardinal Girolamo Farnese) met the Bohemian style, unconventional and eclectic fully designed by the expert team of professional “ Le Bonheur” events and the bride.

One of the most stylish brides-to-be dresses of this year are the creations of Celestina Agostino, a professional in fashion design, who creates gowns that perfectly match every brides’ personality. Behind Ludovica’s dress, there was a curious adventure; I bet she’s smiling reading this.
The flight to Paris four days before the wedding was, fortunately, worthwhile: her lace, macramé original dress was to die for, and she looked beautiful against the greenery backdrop of Villa Aurelia. Her long, free, wavy light brown hair had a natural “I woke up like this” look enhanced by little flowers and accessories, the same was included in her bunch of flowers.
Mismatching a range of colourful wildflowers could be a great secret for keeping your blooming organic bouquet unique. The same detailed attention was for the bridesmaid’s outfit that included all the vintage rose shades that perfectly matched with the Boho chic themed wedding palette.
Let’s face it; grooms are always forgotten when you talk about the bride’s attire. Manuele wore a gorgeous light blue outfit with a matching bow tie; the elegant suit was perfect in form. Manuele owned together with his family a high-end jewellery in the main area of Rome; that’s why his signature was, of course, his attention to details as the wrist watch and the old cufflinks that belonged to his grandfather.

Wedding decoration ideas for a Boho Style Wedding

The only limit of a Boho style wedding is your creativity because it is rich in natural details and unconventional elements.To create a Bohemian-themed wedding is not simple as we thought. We loved to think about it, but the organic “just picked” look was not completely rule-free. All the elements needed to work perfectly together, and most of the styles needed to be the expression of you and your partner.
The professional wedding banqueting team Le Bonheur, well-known around Italy for their sophisticated skills in wedding set design, was involved in creating an unforgettable atmosphere in Villa Aurelia and they produced a set of 100% personalised to Manuele and Ludovica.
Natural elements like flowers with bright colour perfectly matched with the set design of the day, the mood was a vibrant colour palette. This was a one of a kind weekend in October that the weather was uncertain all over Italy, that’s why the first idea to tie the knot in the secret garden of Villa Aurelia was replaced by the backup plan, just in case of “bad black clouds”.
It did not rain, but the ballroom of the Villa was already transformed into a cool and colourful ceremony location adorned with pretty organic elements that gave off an artsy effect. Not to mention all the little free-spirited details of flowers and different wooden chairs, they were perfectly in harmony with the focused view on the alternative wedding ceremony altar. Saying the vows immersed in a natural atmosphere inside a very spacious ballroom became a stunning plan B.
The reception room was set, and inside was breathtaking music. Ludovica asked the Banqueting team how they could infuse her grandmother decorated tablecloth trousseau into the wedding design. They worked a lot to understand the reception vision, goal and the results were four scenographic and wonderful imperial reception tables enhanced by the precious tablecloth Ludovica owned. Everyone loved the outcome!
During the lunch, while the live jazz music was playing, the ballroom ceremony design was replaced by the organic cocktail bar corner, the favour table and themed photo booth with instant printing Polaroid. For the grand finale, the cream layer and fruits cake was set outside facing Rome cupola skyline.
