Photographing a garden wedding in Umbria has been on Framelines bucket list for a while, so when we receive the enquiry from Fiorenza and Francesco we were so excited to hear more about their plans.
Fiorenza and Francesco are creative, artistic people who are true explorers through and through. Fiorenza is a photographer and Francesco in addition to be a startup manager he is a tenor. They have now settled in London and made the UK their home, after travelling the world together. Their shared adventures across the globe inspired much of their wedding day; so much so that they had guests from all over the world from a number of different countries and cities, all coming together to share their big day with them.
The outdoor garden wedding took place at Casale Bellavista in Umbria, Italy. This fabulously rustic property is immersed in the peaceful, natural setting of the green heart of Italy, and it is nestled between the popular but just as picturesque cities of Perugia and Città di Castello. Fiorenza spent many a childhood holiday near this area, so this characterful part of the world seemed like the perfect spot to wed. This stunning location enhanced the beauty of the wedding and was a truly fantastic setting for us to photograph the couple’s big day.
There were so many carefully considered smaller details that Fiorenza and Francesco had incorporated into the day, and they really made the wedding special. We were able to capture all of these intricacies in our photographs, from the twinkling fairy lights and flowers in glass jars to the colourful rugs and carpets that the couple used as their very own ‘red carpet’ for the wedding ceremony.
Fiorenza’s white wedding dress, by the french designer Laure de Sagazan was absolutely beautiful, with a lace top and delicate shoes and jewellery to match. The rustic theme continued from the wedding venue and decorations through to Fiorenza’s stunning bouquet, made by Flority Fair and even her hair (styled by Patrizia Tavella), which was adorned with scented sprigs of bright blue lavender and green foliage, both colours complimenting Fiorenza’s luscious, wavy hairstyle.
After the ceremony and as the night drew in, the guests enjoyed a twilight dinner and drinks were flowing as the stars twinkled in the night sky above. The live band, DJ and vocalist added that extra spark and guests were soon dancing and twirling around in the moonlight into the early hours, accompanied by hilarious props like rabbit ears and brightly coloured feather boas draped around their necks!
The couple’s wedding was rustic and charming, oozing passion and emotion while surrounding guests with beautiful flowers and spoiling them with delicious food and a magical atmosphere thanks to their dinner under the stars. As family and friends raised their glasses to the happy couple, you could feel the supportive, loving emotions radiating from the guests, all wishing Fiorenza and Francesco a wonderful life together.
Our photojournalism style of wedding photography was perfectly matched with this couple’s big day, which was full of family, friends, energy, atmosphere and love. We were honoured to capture their real emotions, raw feelings and authentic personalities in what was a truly momentous day and one to remember forever.
Casale Bellavista is surely a typical Umbria wedding venue that permits to use all the corners for getting ready, outdoor ceremony, dinner al fresco. Plus it has few rooms where you can spend the night especially after the party.
